My name is Kristian and I am fortunate to be one of over 90 Young Adults in Global Mission this year sent out into 11 countries. I will be living in Linguère as a member of a host family, while working with Senegalese Lutheran Development Services. This is an organization that serves communities run by the Senegalese. Project focuses include Micro finance, Community Health, and Education.
YAGM provides a means for young adults such as myself to join host communities in a new land while working alongside locals – this is the the model of accompaniment. As I accompany others and learn about their beliefs, experiences, and language I will be changed. I hope that this blog aids me in presenting some snapshots of my experience in Senegal during the coming year.
